“What does a film cost?” is one of the most common questions from companies considering video production. It is also one of the hardest to answer with a single number.

The price of a video production depends on far more than camera and editing. The format, the audience, the number of shooting days, the post-production and your ambition all stretch the price.

In this guide we go through concrete prices for the six most requested video types in 2026, explain what drives the price up, and what you can do to get the most out of your budget.

What affects the price of a film?

The price of a video production is the sum of many factors. Here are the most important ones:

1. Purpose and level of ambition

An internal onboarding video calls for something quite different from a brand film for TV and digital media. The greater the ambition for visual quality, production and distribution, the higher the budget.

2. Pre-production: concept and script

A well developed script and a clear idea save time during the shoot. We always spend time on pre-production. It makes the final result better and the process more efficient.

3. Shooting days and crew size

A simple production can be done in one day with a small crew. A larger production with several locations, actors and special equipment needs more days and more specialists. Each shooting day with a professional crew typically costs DKK 8,000 to 25,000 depending on the size of the crew.

4. Post-production and versioning

Editing, colour correction, graphics, animation and sound are underestimated budget items. In 2026 a production is often expected in several formats and lengths, for the website, LinkedIn, Instagram and internal use. Versioning takes time and should be priced from the start.

5. Location

Filming on Funen and in Svendborg is typically cheaper than in Copenhagen, because travel costs are lower. Productions abroad increase the budget considerably.

The 6 video types: what do you get for the money?

Sales pitch video - from DKK 20,000

A sales pitch video sells your product or service in under 60 seconds. It is optimised for the web and social media and highlights your strongest benefits concisely and engagingly. Ideal for LinkedIn advertising and landing pages.

Employer branding video - from DKK 15,000

Attract the right candidates by showing the people behind the company and what makes you an attractive employer. Works particularly well on LinkedIn and career pages.

Case video - from DKK 18,000

Build credibility with a case video that shows real customers and documented results. A case video converts better than text and gives your brand substance and trust.

Explainer video - from DKK 30,000

Make the complex understandable through visual, simple storytelling. Explainer videos work as live action or animation and are ideal for technical products, SaaS solutions and processes that are hard to explain in text.

Event video - from DKK 12,000

Share the atmosphere and the content from your most important events. An event video makes sure that valuable material from conferences, product launches and internal events lives on well beyond the day itself.

Brand film - from DKK 35,000

A brand film is an emotionally driven story that strengthens your brand over the long term. It is not designed for direct sales but to build awareness, identification and recognition over time. Brand film is the most expensive category, but also the one with the longest life.

How to get the most out of your video budget in 2026

A good video budget is not about paying as little as possible. It is about investing in the right places.

  • Think in reuse: Plan from the start so that one production can deliver several formats and lengths. A two-minute brand film can be cut down to a 30-second version for Instagram and a 15-second teaser for LinkedIn.
  • Combine video types: Many companies get more value by combining, for example, a case video with a sales pitch version, and so get two strong assets from a single production day.
  • Invest in pre-production: Thorough preparation with a script and a plan reduces wasted time during the shoot and secures a better result within the budget.
  • Measure the effect: Define your KPIs before production starts. Should the film generate leads, build awareness or reduce bounce rate? Measuring makes the next budget easier to justify.

Frequently asked questions about video production prices

What does a simple corporate video cost?

A simple corporate video typically starts at DKK 15,000 to 20,000 for a basic production with one shooting day, editing and delivery in one format. The price rises sharply with the number of shooting days, the crew size and the scope of post-production.

Can you make a good film for under DKK 20,000?

Yes. An event video or an employer branding video can be produced professionally from DKK 12,000 to 15,000 in the basic package. It does require a clear purpose, good preparation and an efficient shooting day.

What is included in the price?

Pre-production, filming and post-production are included in all our packages. The basic package covers one format and one length. Standard and premium packages add versioning, graphics and distribution-ready formats for social media.

Why do the prices vary so much?

Because purpose, ambition and scope vary enormously. An internal video with simple editing is technically cheap. A brand film with actors, sound design and high-end colour grading requires many specialists and many days.

Filmbudget is a pricing tool for Danish companies. It shows what each video format costs, what makes the price go up or down, and lets you get an estimate for your own project without talking to a salesperson first.

It depends on the format. A social media video starts at around DKK 12,000, while a fully produced brand film or explainer can exceed DKK 100,000. See the price levels for each format, or use the price calculator and get an estimate in two minutes.

The number of shooting days, how many locations and people are involved, and how much post-production the film needs in terms of editing, graphics, voice-over and music. Ambition matters more to the price than the length of the film.

A typical production takes between 2 and 8 weeks from the first meeting to the finished film. Simple formats can be faster, while productions with several locations, animation or a large cast take longer.

No. The estimate is an indicative price level based on completed productions, so you know what to expect before you request quotes. The final quote always depends on the specific job.
