A strong sales pitch can make the difference in capturing the interest of a potential customer or investor. This applies both when you’re face-to-face with the customer – and when you need to capture their attention with a sales pitch video.

In this blog post, we take a closer look at what an effective sales pitch requires – and how to turn it into a compelling sales pitch video that works for you on different platforms.

What is a sales pitch?

A sales pitch is your company’s chance to convey who you are, what you offer and why the customer should choose you – briefly and convincingly. It can be an oral presentation, a LinkedIn post, an email… or a well-produced video.

Regardless of format, your pitch should:

  • Arouse interest
  • Build trust
  • Explain your offer clearly
  • Highlight your value to the customer
  • Setting up the next step (CTA)

But how do you do it effectively on video?

Why video works as a sales tool

People make decisions with both their head and their gut. A video combines words, images, tone and mood to create rapport and understanding in seconds. This makes video ideal for delivering a sales pitch, especially online where attention is scarce.

Benefits of making your sales pitch as a video:

  • Conveys your message more vividly and effectively than text alone
  • You control the style, tone and visual expression
  • Can be used across platforms
  • You can reuse the video on website, social media, trade shows and emails

5 steps to a great sales pitch on video

1. Start with a strong opening

You have a few seconds to grab the viewer’s attention. Ask a question, make a provocation or paint a picture of the customer’s problem.

2. Speak to the recipient’s needs

Your pitch should be less about you and more about how you solve their challenge. Use words and images that speak to their reality.

Show concrete examples, before and after pictures or products in use.

3. Explain what you offer

Be clear: What are you selling? What does the solution consist of? What does the customer actually get out of it?

Use graphics and text to highlight key points.

4. Show your USP

Your Unique Selling Proposition (USP) is what sets you apart from the competition. Maybe it’s your process, your personality or your results.

5. End with a clear call-to-action

What do you want the recipient to do? Book a meeting? Contact you? Download something?

Use voice and graphics to guide the recipient – and put the link where it’s easy to click.

The video that pitches for you – again and again

Once you’ve created a powerful sales pitch as a video, you can use it across platforms:

  • On the front page of your website
  • On LinkedIn or in ads
  • In emails to new leads
  • At trade shows or presentations

It’s an investment in tangible, visual communication that strengthens your brand and shortens the path to a deal.
