Sådan fanger du målgruppens opmærksomhed

You typically have less than 3 seconds to grab your audience’s attention or they’ll move on. That’s why it’s not enough for your video to look good. It also needs to grab them from the start.

At Filmbudget.dk, we help companies every day to create content that both reaches the target audience and is remembered. Here’s our best advice on how to capture people instantly in your video.

1. Start with the essentials – skip the warm-up

Forget the long introduction. You need to quickly show what the video is about and why the viewer should stick around. It’s all about creating curiosity and relevance from the first second.

Example:
Instead of: “Hi, and welcome to our video…”
Try: “Want to know how you can cut your customer journey in half with video?”

2. Use a strong visual impact

Video is a visual medium, so use it! Start with a surprising image, an evocative scene or a relevant close-up that immediately sets the tone and sparks interest.

3. Capture the feeling

We humans make decisions with emotion – and then with logic. Use the first few seconds to activate an emotion: excitement, recognition, joy or wonder. When emotions are present, so is attention.

Example:
Show a customer’s problem and how your solution makes a tangible difference.

4. Speak directly to the target audience

Start with a question or statement they can’t ignore.

Example:
“Do you also hate it when your marketing budget disappears without effect?”

5. Provide value right away

Give your viewer a reason to keep watching. Promise a solution, a new insight or a concrete result and make sure you deliver on it.

Remember: Relevance = awareness.

6. Use sound and music strategically

Music and sound create atmosphere and energy. It can enhance the message and support the pace, but only if it fits the target audience and purpose of the video.

Tip: Choose music that matches your brand identity and the pace of the narrative.
